Pinecone is on a mission to build the search and database technology to power AI applications for the next decade and beyond. Our fully managed vector database makes it easy to add vector search to AI applications. Since creating the “vector database” category, demand has grown incredibly fast and it shows in our user base. We are a distributed team with clusters in New York, San Francisco, Tel-Aviv, and Manchester.
About the Role:
This person will lead our Solutions Product Marketing efforts, telling the Pinecone story from the lens of solutions marketing and thought leadership. Their primary focus is activation across channels via content, including thought leadership, publishable articles (O'Reilly's, etc.), sales enablement materials, benchmarks, and other materials across channels. The role will support Analyst conversations with the Head of PMM and the Head of Marketing.
People who hear you talk think: "They know their stuff," and not, "Ugh, another marketer."
The requirement is a minimum of 6+ years of experience in independently producing developer marketing buyer content (think VP of Engineering) as part of their core job (probably in technical marketing, solution marketing for a technical product, technical product management, and developer relations.)
Effective communicator and confident public speaker
They have a solid professional knowledge of databases, particularly machine learning applications and the GenAI market.
In this role, you will:
Own the solutions marketing, including messaging, collateral, and GTM for developers across channels, including web, sales, partners, and events.
Create an always-on product marketing plan and pilot new programs with a strong focus on sales plays and winning technical executive mindshare to increase awareness (e.g., registrations, downloads, views), demand (paid sign-ups or conversion), and product adoption (usage)
Build trust with the developer audience by publishing new recognizable thought-leadership articles and influencing content decisions for developer advocates within the first year.
Develop on-going improvement to our story via content from a solutions lens, expressed in first-call decks, blogs, white papers, etc.
Can represent Pinecone at industry conferences.
Candidates MUST have 6+ years of product marketing, technical product marketing, and/or developer relations, or product management experience.
Candidates MUST have machine learning background
Candidates MUST have start-up and scale-up experience.
Candidate MUST be in San Francisco and/or NYC (open to other locations if the candidate is the perfect fit)
Candidates MUST have written long form for technical leaders (VP of Eng) and can show examples
It is Strongly Preferred to have worked in at a database company or have experience with distributed systems, AI, and one or more of the Big Three cloud providers
Bachelor's in computer science is Preferred
