About The Role 

As a lead Software Engineer at the Pinecone Core Engine team, you will be a major part of the development of the vector database and contribute on the following areas:

  • Cutting edge technology based database architecture

  • Design efficient and optimized data computing

  • Develop a state of the art SaaS service using the most advanced tools and infrastructure

You will work in a fast-paced and rewarding environment that demands the highest quality work with minimal supervision. And as we all do a little bit of everything, you will also be a strong generalist, work directly with customers, and mentor engineers.

What we look for:

  • A passion for technology 

  • 5+ years of experience with a systems programming language like C/C++/Rust/Go

  • 5+ years of experience with designing and developing high performance systems

  • BS in Computer Science, a related technical field or equivalent experience

  • Strong foundations in databases and operating systems

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with Rust programming

  • Experience with SSE/AVX

  • Expertise working with one of AWS/GCP/Azure cloud platforms

  • Knowledge and experience in distributed systems and micro-services architecture
