Pinecone provides scalable vector database and related solutions that allow our users to build incredible AI applications. For purposes of this policy, the term “solutions” refers to products, hosted services and websites owned or operated by Pinecone.

To ensure our solutions operate smoothly, quickly and without disruption, we need help from you, our users. This policy lists various activities that we would consider to be misuse (or abuse) of our solutions, but is not intended to be exhaustive or as a substitute for common sense and good judgment. Accordingly, we reserve the right to take action against objectionable behavior that contradicts the spirit of this policy, even if not explicitly prohibited. Users are not permitted to disrupt our solutions, including by:

• Conducting unauthorized probing, scanning, or testing of vulnerabilities.
• Reverse-engineering or hacking our solutions, or bypassing security measures.
• Uploading viruses, bots, worms, or scripting exploits.
• Modifying or disabling services, systems, or networks.
• Generating excessive load using automated tools or consuming unreasonable resources.

Users are not permitted to use solutions to engage in wrongful activities, such as:

• Spoofing, phishing, or false impersonation.
• Sharing private information, or collecting personal data, without permission.
• Stalking, bullying, or threatening violence.
• Engaging in illegal activities.
• Violating laws, including those relating to data, privacy and export control.

Users are not permitted to use solutions to engage in inappropriate communications, such as:

• Sending chain letters or unsolicited commercial messages.
• Soliciting users for commercial purposes without permission.

Users are not permitted to use solutions to process inappropriate content, including by:

• Posting content that infringes intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights.
• Sharing false, deceptive, obscene, indecent, harassing, hateful, or illegal content.
• Promoting violence, hate speech, or dangerous activities.
• Posting content intended to be inflammatory.

Pinecone reserves the right to interpret this policy and to take (or not take) action in its sole discretion with respect to any suspected violations. Pinecone may modify this policy from time to time by publishing an updated version at https://www.pinecone.io/legal/acceptable-use-policy/.
