About The Role:

As a Director of Communications at Pinecone, you will apply your creative and organizational skills to help us tell our story to the market in a clear, credible, and compelling way. To date we’ve received a disproportionate amount of interest and recognition from press, analysts, and industry insiders, so there are many opportunities to leverage and build upon, and see an immediate and long-lasting impact. You will report to the VP of Marketing and collaborate with the most technical marketing team you’ve ever seen and an exceptionally enthusiastic executive team.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning & Brand Management: Develop a comprehensive communication strategy aligned with company objectives while ensuring consistent brand messaging across all channels. Identify, report, and adjust the plan based on key metrics.

  • Media & Stakeholder Relations: Build relationships with tech industry journalists and influencers, and engage with key stakeholders including the executive team, investors, and partners. Handle media inquiries, pitch stories, and arrange interviews for company spokespeople.

  • Content Creation & Presence: Create and oversee content that brings our messaging to the market through owned, earned, and paid distribution channels including executive talks, our blog, social media, third-party publications, and more.

  • Crisis Management & Internal Communications: Prepare and lead communication efforts during crises and ensure effective communication with employees about critical company updates.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of communications experience. 

  • Track record of building and/or scaling successful communications programs including PR, content, and social.

  • Bachelor's degree 

  • Startup experience

  • It is Strongly Preferred to have worked in a data/infrastructure, AI/ML, or developer-tools company.

  • Located in San Francisco or New York
